Just after 1:00 pm this afternoon, Engine 42 was added to an incident on Mosside Boulevard in the borough of Wall. A vehicle had caught fire which caused the installed nitrous oxide tank to explode. Flaming shrapnel caused several brush fires along the steep slopes on both sides of Mosside Boulevard. E-42 was tasked with connecting to the hydrant and pumping the approximately 3,000 foot of 5″ supply line up to the incident. Crew members also assisted with extinguishing the many brush fires. E-42 was on scene for approximately 2 hours.
