Around 10 minutes to 3:00 am this morning Rescue 4 was alerted as the RIT to the Unity section of Plum for a working dwelling fire. R-4 was the second unit on scene and Command reassigned the crew to assist with fire suppression. Crews deployed a two hand lines and attempted extinguishment. Within minutes, Command switched to a defensive attack and crews backed out and repositioned lines. During the incident, a collapse occurred and partially trapped several firefighters for a few minutes. Crews were able to free all members and one firefighter was evaluated and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. R-4 was on scene for approximately 4 hours.
