Early this evening Monroeville Companies were dispatched to the physical rescue of an elderly male over a hillside. Medic 19 arrived and confirmed the initial report. Rescue 4 arrived and began assembling a 3:1 mechanical advantage system to lower additional rescuers to the patient. R-4 crews then assisted M-19 crews with loading the patient into a Stokes basket before hauling the patient up the hill with the assistance of Rescue 6 and Truck 5 personnel. The patient was in the back of Medic 19 and being transported to the hospital within 20 minutes of arrival of emergency personnel.
