At 6:30pm this evening Engine 41 was dispatched into the Sardis district of Murrysville for a reported residential structure fire. E-41, the Chief and the Deputy responded with a total of 7 personnel. Upon arrival, E-41 was initially requested to split crews with one crew providing a RIT crew and another placing ground ladders. Within minutes, additional Companies arrived and were assigned RIT responsibilities allowing that crew to be reassigned to interior operations. E-41 crews assisted with additional searches, suppression, salvage and overhaul. While E-41 operated at this fire, Engine 42 responded to a report of smoke inside a first due nursing facility which turned out to be good intent.
