At approximately 4:00 pm today, Rescue 4 and Medic 49 were dispatched to a reported vehicle over the hillside with the occupant still inside. Units arrived on scene to find a vehicle over the embankment and into a tree. The driver was not entrapped, however, did sustain an injury that prevented her from self extricating and traversing the hillside. Rescue 4, Engine 51 and Rescue 6 personnel rigged a lowering system to allow personnel and equipment to the crash site and then rigged another system to lower the patient down the hillside to awaiting EMS. Units operated for approximately one hour.
