Two minutes into the shift EMS crews were sent out for a reported cardiac arrest in one of the first due hotels. When crews returned to the station the Engine was alerted to a natural gas leak inside a commercial structure in the 6th District. Just as the Engine cleared this call they were dispatched into Plum for possible fire inside a warehouse. A pallet inside a warehouse had ignited and luckily burned itself out overnight. The unsprinklered, unalarmed building was charged with smoke when workers arrived. Just before Noon, the Rescue was dispatched to a Carbon Monoxide incident in the first due and upon clearing this call the Rescue Box was dispatched for a physical rescue within the first due. A vehicle slid off the road and possibly struck a residential structure. Rescue 4 stabilized the vehicle and removed the uninjured victims. Shortly after this incident a motor vehicle crash with rollover and entrapment was dispatched on the PA Turnpike. R-4 and Medic Units 49 and 47 responded to find a vehicle on its roof with heavy damage and a critically injured female. The patient was rapidly transported to Forbes Hospital. In all, Company 4 handled 13 calls between 7 am and 4 pm.
