Early this morning EMS was summoned to assist the Pitcairn Police with an individual in distress and down an approximate 10′ – 12′ embankment of a stream. The patient had allegedly taken some illicit drugs and was near hypothermic. Pitcairn Fire Company and Rescue 4 were alerted for assistance. Units arrived and immediately assembled a 3:1 mechanical advantage system for hauling the individual back up the steep, snow covered embankment. The patient was placed in a stokes basket after Narcan administration and hauled to the awaiting Medic unit.
