This afternoon Rescue 4 and Medic 49 responded to an area off of Saunders Station Road just above the Westmoreland Heritage Trail parking area for a physical high-angle rescue. An ‘explorer’ became stuck on a 50 degree graded hillside as he was seeking an elusive geocashe. The Crew from R-4 and M-49 hiked up the hill, placed an anchor and mechanical lowering system into place then placed a class III harness around the victim to lower him down. He was lowered approximately 85 feet to the trail below and refused any EMS treatment or transport.
