The personnel at Monroeville Volunteer Fire Company #4 come from all walks of life. They are residents of Monroeville and surrounding areas but all have one common goal, to help the residents in time of need.
To join our team all it takes to apply for membership is by stopping by the station and asking for an application or inquiring via mail or e-mail to the membership committee chairperson. Applicants will be subject to a few requirements through the application process such as age groups, various background checks or anything else that may be needed. Prior experience is not required as training will be provided within the company and through other local agencies as needed.
Age requirements for applicants are as follows:
Persons 18 and older:
Eligible for Firefighter/EMT or Firefighter/Paramedic membership (training certifications and/or department policies limit functions)
Persons 16 and 17 years of age:
Eligible for Junior membership status. (Junior firefighters have limited participation during calls / training limitations set as per PA state child labor laws and department policies)
Persons 14 to 15 years of age:
Eligible for Cadet membership status. (Cadet members are observers ONLY / NO Fire or EMS activity is permitted to this age group. They may attend drills and other department functions to observe and grow interest before moving into next membership class. The training drills that this group can participate in is followed as per PA state child labor laws and department policies.)
