On this sunny Mother’s Day, Engine 41 took in two residential fires for the day. Around 1 pm crews were dispatched to a ‘trailer’ fire endangering a residence in the 4th District. C-41 and E-41 arrived to find an occupied 28 foot camper being used as a temporary residence. The camper was well involved and the resident was attempting to extinguish the fire. Crews from E-41, E-12, and T-5 made quick work of the fire while E-62 crew assisted Medic 47 with administering medical care to the resident. Just as this fire was placed under control E-12, T-5, and E-62 were released to respond to a smell of natural gas and smoke in a town-home in the 4th District. Then around 6 pm E-41 responded to the 6th District for a working dwelling fire. E-41 was 3rd due, 2nd arriving engine and secured a supply line and sent its crew inside for primary searches and opening up for E-62 crew. The fire appeared to have started in the garage and migrated up to the attic. The fire was controlled and extinguished within 30 minutes.
