Starting early Saturday morning, Station 4 answered several calls in and out of the first due in a span of 15 hours. The sleep deprivation marathon started around 02:30 when Rescue 4 was dispatched to a house fire in West Wilmerding as the RIT. Upon arrival, Command put R4 to work operating a line in the basement of a residential fire. While returning to the station from that call the Rescue was sent to the PA Turnpike for a tractor trailer rolled over with driver entrapped. The tandem trailer was blocking both westbound lanes and the cab was up a muddy embankment. Crews had little rest before returning to the Turnpike for another tractor trailer spilling several gallons of diesel from one of its full saddle tanks. While returning to the station from this call R4 was then dispatched to District 6 for a motorcycle versus a vehicle. Then just after 5 pm Company 4 was alerted to the house fire in the first due. Engine 42 handled a kitchen fire with assistance from E-12, E-61, T4 and E-51. A huge shout out to the crew members that handled business with very little sleep.
